Prayer

‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayer and thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’ (Philippians 4:6)

God’s Word repeatedly reminds us to turn to Him in prayer and assures us that when we seek Him with all our heart and soul, there He’ll be (Deuteronomy 4:29).

At SJtL, we believe in persistent, urgent, joyful prayer and in giving thanks to God for his promise to hear us.

On Sundays if you want to pray with someone just ask after any service.

The church is open for prayer during the week (09:00-13:00) and there is a prayer chapel set aside particularly for prayer.

If you would like prayer for any reason, please get in touch at prayerchain@sjtl.org for prayer by a small group of people, in total confidence.

We also gather to pray on a regular basis:

Revive Prayers: This is our monthly prayer meeting (except August) on the second Thursday of the month, 19:00-21:30 (starting with food between 7pm and 7.30pm). We gather together for food, followed by worship and a time of extended prayer for each other, the church and community.

Men’s Prayers and Women’s Prayers: These take place on the third Saturday of every month at 10:00.  Women meet at the St James the Less Centre for breakfast and pray together.  The men meet at a local Pimlico Café and then move to the Church for prayer.

Prayers for the Persecuted Church: Each Thursday from 12:30 to 13:30 in the St James the Less Centre there is an opportunity to pray for persecuted Christians.
