Operations Manager Post Details

St James the Less is a vibrant community-based church in the heart of Westminster, working with some of the most vulnerable in our community.  Whilst we do not have a large core membership we have a lot of connections through our different ministries and we are looking for a motivated and competent Operations Manager to hold the threads together.

The purpose of the post is to bring efficiency, innovation, confidence and a Christ-centred spirituality to the operation of the church’s administration and to enable the ministry and mission of the church to flourish and thrive through providing high-quality administrative and management of services to the church in general and the vicar in particular.

The Operations Manager will often be the first contact point with the wider community, external groups and church members, giving the church a human face and connecting people to others in the church who can better meet their needs where necessary particularly during the office open hours.

The job has a large number of varied roles, requiring someone with the ability to think creatively and flexibly.

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the post-holder is a practising Christian. Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

St James is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders are expected to share this commitment.
Our safeguarding policy is available here on our website.
You will need to attend all relevant safeguarding training and work according to our safeguarding policy. This post is subject to a Basic DBS check.
